This medium forces the photographer to communicate with compelling compositions and full tonal ranges. It is how art photography began, with no color to help things along. These images show the influence of my chief mentor, Edmund Teske, who in turn was influenced by the likes of Laszlo Mohholy-Nagy, Man Ray, Berenice Abbott, and the Hollywood studio legends. He used graphic arts film to make montages, a labor-intensive process that requires careful planning. And he liked the character of solarizations like that of the Dry Dock image.

These images are presented on Arches museum quality digital art & Photo Inkjet paper. The finish is a white smooth matte. Overall sizes are either 8 1/2 x 11, or 11 x 17. Image sizes range from 5 x 7 ($100) to 8 x 10 ($200), to 10 1/4 x 14 ($350). Matting and framing are the responsibility of the purchaser. Sales tax of 9.75%, plus shipping and handling, must be added to the price.
